This is one of the best places!!! They do soo much for the animals of the area that are lost or abandoned!!! They are very nice and are protective over the animals and only want the best!! When you adopt from here your animal will be fixed and chipped and for me that is absolutely fantastic! I attached a picture of my baby girl who just turned 3 yesterday and she is amazing!!!

The lady working there is so rude !! My first impression was , maybe she’s having a bad day. But no she just don’t like her job ( I’m assuming) I understand because of the virus they have to make appointments. All I did was walk in the door and she YELLED DO YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. I said well no , I didn’t know?!!? She said , well you have to leave ( sounding really rude ) because we can’t have bunch of people in the lobby ( I was the only person in the lobby ) I asked her if me and my son could look at the animals if we made it quick. She allowed us to look but rolled her eyes as she walked into the back. We then came back to the desk before leaving and had mentioned a cat we was interested in adopting. She said well FIRST YOU HAVE TO COME BACK BEFORE WE CAN TELL YOU ANYTHING. This time she’s being even more rude. I said ok can I go ahead and set up a time. She walked away and didn’t even say anything I stood there in shock!! She came back out and I asked her again , and apologized for bothering her BUT I feel like I shouldn’t have to say sorry for asking her to do her job. !!! She said all I want to do is eat my lunch Lol ok go right ahead. ! Cuz I won’t be coming back !!! Worst experience ever. I went all the way to another county to get animal! I suggest this lady name crystal to get another job or retire !!!!

I don't work at Sierra s Haven. They take volunteers there. I have seen full blood dogs there. Not Alaskan Malamute, however, considering how long they have been there I am most certain there has been. I would contact them. Ask questions, let them know what you are looking for. They are wonderful there. I see where you are looking for a puppy also. The lady that watches over the puppies there may come off a little gruff but I think it's because she truly cares for those pups and where they go. If she sees you are there for the right reason and believes you will be a suitable fur baby home, you see a softer side of her. Also ask about puppies on hold. Once they are seen by their vet, they have to hold those puppies for 40 days. They don't offer info on the pups on hold. That way you can get the pick of the litter early.
I live in Columbus Ohio just wondering if you have small dog for adoption I looked at shelters here all they have is Pitt bulls mix
Go and volunteer! Just show up and fill out a form... Then get to the fun!
They only neuter if the animal is adopted through them..but they also do low income spay and neuter you would need to call to find out about getting on the waiting list.
Yes
Is the dog still available an how what kind is it,how old, and male or female?
A re homing fee is needed and appreciated. Was there any food or cat items left? Such as litterbox, cat condo, etc. Always needed, as well.
It varies but the baseline is usually $250!
I would call the shelter directly &ask. You should also contact the county dog pound to see if they can help as well.
If by themselves at least 16 and a parent needs to sign volunteer release form
We have a ton!
They do take kittens and puppies.
What kind of dog
Sorry we were there for a puppy. They did have alot pf cats. U could call and ask them.
Sierra's Haven neuteres the rescue dogs when they're adopted. My cost was $100 which included a bag of food, two Heartworm medication & chipped. Best $100 spent!!!
Sierra's Haven never does spays, only neuters. Look up Tri-State Spay and Neuter, they're in Ashland, and it's around 40 dollars.
I'm fairly certain Sierra's Haven only deals with cats and dogs. They are not set up for goats.
Just call and ask or contact them on Facebook. If they're willing to rescue the puppy, there are volunteers that could foster it if there's not room at this time. Also they can put the word out that the puppy needs a rescue or a forever home. Just let them know what's going on.
Yes!! If they don't have a nursing momma call around to your local clinics and see if they have a nursing momma! Wish you the best of luck!
No. Medicaid doesn't pay to get your CST spayed but you might be able to find a low cost alternative. Call Sierras Haven and ask if they know where, in your area, you can get your cat spayed inexpensively because your are low income, disabled, whatever.
You can volunteer any time as long as you fill out our volunteer form and a legal guardian or parent signs it! 🐱
They do have a list you can get on to have your dog spayed. It cost $20.
Yes, but only on certain occasions, when they run discounted clinics. Call them or check out on Facebook Page
They are full. Wont take in any more. At least that's what I heard them say.
They have adoption events from time to time. I believe Kroger's, PetSmart in Ashland, other locations. Sometimes sponsored by companies like Bissell who will front the majority of the adoption fee on certain pets. Sometimes people will sponsor a pet and pay the adoption fee for the prospective adopter. You should follow their Facebook page as they constantly post updated information on upcoming events and all the pets needing loving homes.
I'm not sure if they pickup.
They usually do it on Wednesday
I am not sure. They usually have a wide variety.
Yes
They turned 2 away while I was there
You can call Monday - Saturday 10-4 to ask :)
They often have Shepard puppies of all sorts.
If you message Sierra's Haven or post on their Facebook page, they usually respond/will repost to get the word out!
Is he still available? We're looking for a puppy very badly
Yes
They try to help but they are over loaded.
Patti Cunningham, Thank you for giving me a answer. I did call there and a young lady answered the phone, but she was rather rude to me. That is why I have nevered called back. Sandra
