We spent three nights at the Best Western Ptarmigan and had a good overall experience. We loved that we could see Dillon Reservoir and the mountains from the window of our motel style, pet-friendly room. Be aware that many of the property's rooms don't provide the view, which I think would result in a much less satisfying experience. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Parking is good and the place was pretty quiet. The provided breakfast and dining area were quite good. Across the street is a multi-use path with multiple benches as well as a city park with an amphitheater, covered picnic tables, benches, and a playground. Nearby restaurants provide a variety of cuisines. The only real disappointment was that our room lacked air conditioning and was quite warm in the late afternoon and into the evening - but for much of the year that won't be a problem.

This is now my go-to location for when I'm visiting the high country. The rooms are incredibly clean and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast has a nice array of food and if you get a room facing lake Dillon, your experience is even more elevated. My next trip is already booked! The walls are a bit thin, but it's nowhere near a deal breaker. Other than that, this is a great place to stay.

Wonderful family owned hotel with very friendly and helpful staff that really do their best to take care of their guests. Hotel is located right across from Lake Dillon, is close to many good restaurants, and just a short drive to several ski areas. Highly recommended!

Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Views of the lake and mountains are amazing. The hot tub is a nice amenity after a long day snowboarding. Walking distance to quite a few restaurants. Included breakfast was everything I wanted.
