I spent a night here in February 2019, one of the most sublime nights in a tent I've ever had. Rented a tent for the night, arrived mid afternoon to it all set up - cooking equipment, largest bed I've seen in a tent and lots of bedding. Drinking water nearby, and toilet a short walk away out of sight. Facilities are basic but the air bnb advert was detailed, so no surprises for me there. I was the only person on site for the night, set up camp and enjoyed the silence and views. Open environment meant it was quite windy, but it was nothing the fire and extra thick sleeping bag couldn't fix. Got up in the morning for one of the best sunrises of my life, went for a wander and got all of the pictures. Hosts were very helpful, I only needed to buy some firewood and I was set. Small store over the road had food and coals for sale, and I brought my own alcohol from elsewhere. Beautiful area, perfect night, simple but it's all you need.

A wonderful place to stay and the closest campground to the park itself. Warning-It doesn't look like much from the road, but pull in anyway! It's mostly just a barren parking lot with picnic tables. But It is desert after all. There are no hookups, but it has the most magnificent view of all the campgrounds in the valley, the sites are spacious and it only cost $25 per night for my 32 foot motorhome and small trailer. The other campgrounds in the area charge three to four times as much and you will usually have no view. Wild horses and donkeys would wander through several times each day to add to the Navajo vibe. And they are pet friendly, which the park campground is not! At the park campground there is a $200 fine if you are caught with a pet. AND in the park the sites are right on top of each other with less of a view and there are also no hookups in the park campground. One more thing, the owner or manager, Dorothy, is a wonderful Navajo woman who gives customers a FREE home cooked Navajo taco every night which is a meal itself! Don't wast your time at the other campgrounds unless you simply cannot manage without hookups. Just go straight to Mustang Valley and you won't be disappointed and you'll save a bunch of money too!

An amazing place, we slept in the igloons of 2.7 miles - Mitchell Bute Rd. Accommodation great, beautiful views of the surroundings. Showers clean, everything was perfectly fine

We came there at 11:45 pm. A host was incredibly nice and we moved in faster than ever. Thank you for the best night ever. Served like in a hotel, but with a fireplace and a clear sky above.
