My husband was having gastro problems. We live in DeVille Louisiana and he had to go to Lafayette for care. He made an appointment with them on his day off and then was told that his appointment wasn't until Tuesday. So today being Tuesday he went to his appointment drove hour and a half there took off a half a day of work only to be forgotten about sitting in the waiting room. When he checked at 4:05 what was taking so long they acted like he had just shown up and not already sat there for 45 minutes. The little girl said she would go and check and came back 15 minutes later to let him know that his authorization was no longer valid. So no one apparently was going to tell him this, were they just going to have him sit there until they closed. Extremely unprofessional staff. Apparently it's okay to just forget to follow up on your patients or the things they need for their appointment. Good luck if you choose to go here

The docs, nurses, PA's are great, but the office support staff is a nightmare. I'm not sure if this is because they're understaffed, don't have the right tools, or if it's a specific issue in this office. Many of the complaints I see here are from patients referred by their PCP from Fort Polk. Because they are located so far away from the base, they have very limited experience with how to navigate being a provider for active duty/veteran/military families. I will say there is zero phone etiquette happening, so that is very off-putting. What's good enough customer service for the people of Louisiana is not good enough for the rest of the world.

I had a procedure scheduled for almost 2 months. Someone called from the office one week before the procedure to say I would have to put 2 deposits before the day of the procedure. I explained my insurance would cover it 100% because it was part of my yearly physical. She told me it wasn't and instead coded for problems with polyps. I explained it wasn't that it was miscoded. She said well if it's wellness I had to wait 10 before it would be covered by my insurance. I told her cancel the appointment and I contacted my insurance. She was wrong and I canceled the appointment for nothing. I could have the procedure done every year if I choose and it would be covered 100%. I have tried calling them for 2 days but no answer and no way to leave a callback number. Not very professional!

After a major diagnosis, they say "call anytime with questions". They do NOT respond to calls. They are HORRID with follow ups. Was put on a new medication. They told me to call with any unusual symptoms because of the seriousness of the medication. Shortly after taking the first dose, had signs of allergic reaction. I called the doctor, no one answered; I left a voicemail. No one responded for 2 days. I had to go to a clinic. The clinic said the symptoms were classic allergic reaction symptoms specific to this medication. The staff that answers the phone are lazy people who don't go out of the way to find an answer. If they don't know an answer to a question, they say, "No." rather than, "No, but based on the severity of the situation, I'll ask the doctor right now.". The staff sound like they're fresh from the swamps down in the bayou. There's a reason this place is horribly rated. EDIT: I would like to add my recent experience which further demonstrates the overall character of this office: I had to visit the office in person last week. At the time of this visit, I still had THREE questions (one question was STILL about allergic reactions that another doctor raised concerns about. This doctor was the doctor from the clinic I had to visit because this gastro center would not return my calls) that I had to leave via voicemail because no one would pick up the phone. It would be understandable if they were very busy one day and I called three times on that same day with questions, but no. These were not questions all left the same day. Each question was left on different days. In fact, the oldest question pending in this "queue" was left on a voicemail nearly two weeks prior to my visit. As I was walking into the office, and given the lack of follow-up, I thought to myself, "They must be extremely busy. I hope I'm not stuck in the waiting room too long.". I open the door, and to my amazement, there was only one patient in the waiting room. Plenty of staff, chatting with each other, completely lacking any sense of urgency, but yet seemingly did not have any time for returning my long overdue, important calls
