Kids and I wanted to go on a walk this morning but we didn't feel safe enough to get out of our car .there were at least 12 vehicles being lived out of as well as a homeless tent next to the playground.

There is no camping at Rock Park unless you go into the RV park then you have to call RV park directly to get a reservation

No i wish. With your own you can take it any where with u.

I read on Trip Advisor that rock park has been taken over by homeless people. What I would like to know is it a good place to take my dog for a stroll and maybe barbecue some lunch and just enjoy myself?

It's great for that. My wife and go there frequently. Picnics and cookouts happen all times of the year.
