Took my 10 yr old Alli a 75 lb Bassett in for a possible uti, she had allergies, licking feet ect. Was told all dogs have them in this area. She was a happy, active dog. Was given rx of 3000 mg a day of amoxicillin, 2x the normal dose, my mother gave her the full dose for a week, I lowered it after that but the damage was done. I had been taking care of my sick father so my mom helped with Alli. my Alli had a reaction to it, throwing up clots of blood, anorexia, shaking etc.. Took her back, a doc I didn't know came in, Was told it wasn't the amoxicillin, excused away all of her symptoms of reaction, told me she wasn't going to argue with me when I tried to tell them it was the antibiotic, they gave her a shot of long lasting antibiotic in the same family to bypass the stomach (wich I believe made her worse) and 800$ worth of pills and food that she couldn't eat. She crashed the next day, took her to emergency hospital where she died a few days later. Also gave me an rx of 100 mg. gabepentin 2-3 every 12 hrs. moms dog is on that so i noticed the pills were different. Looked up the G58 gabapentin, 400mg pills! They were indifferent and cold through the whole thing. Dr. Gibbs never once called me to apologize. Was in to drop off receipts from emergency vet and she didn't even acknowledge me standing there. Got a refund and paid me what I spent at emergency hospital but that does nothing to help the pain and anguish this has put my family through. She was part of my family. I wish I would have read her reviews or took her somewhere else before I trusted them, I hope this helps people make a better decision of where to take their furry family. I trusted them and now my Alli is gone.

Back in April of this year we took our dog in for what seemed to be a severe eye infection. They took the dog in for treatment while I waited in the parking lot. Dr. Gibbs came out and told me she needed her eye removed due to glaucoma. They gave me an estimate for over 700.00 it included services not asked for but they said that is the cost. We decided to seek a second opinion and that doctor treated her for an eye infection. The infection cleared up and the eye is fine now. Due to her incompetance Dr. Gibbs almost cost my dog her eye! It is quite evident they care more about money than animals. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else for your pets healthcare. If I could give less than 0 stars I would. By the way I don't think they read these reviews because I see no response to any of them because they don't care!!!!

I just moved here from Fort Worth. We have 4 dogs and take them in for all problems. We were unpacking when our 15 year old dog started to have fluid fill up her lungs. We called the vet and she said that she could not see us until next week. I said we needed to euthanize our 15 year old dog and was told to go to another vet. Needless to say we had to watch our dog drown in her own fluids. Our vet Dr beam Alvarado vet clinic would never have done that.
