I've been taking my miniature Schnauzer to Middletown Animal Hospital for 11 years now. They are typically great about scheduling / communication and I adore Dr. Curro. However, I do not recommend seeing Dr. Yurkus. Dr. Yurkus has horrible bedside manner, rushes visits and is generally a miserable person.

I’m actually editing my initial review, 5 stars down to 1. I gave this facility 4 visits. While the Doctor is great; the staff is terrible. Most of the ladies are rude. - that’s not even the real issue. The issue is; the misprint on my pups medication. He is supposed to take one daily. When we initially started the medication it was three pills for the first two days and then one daily. The refill says take 3 pills for seven days and once daily to maintain. If I left my dog with the dog sitter and didn’t notice this misprint what would’ve happened? Luckily, I have brains and I read the label prior to leaving it out for the sitter. I know exactly what happened, the rude woman on the phone that took care of my refill was more than likely the same rude woman that’s aways buried in her phone when we’re there. Put ur phone down, as you almost overdosed my dog. To mention a few things from my prior review.. The rude staff. The fact that they never have urgent care appointments; and they say, we don’t have time for you go to the hospital. A good veterinary office would follow up with a phone call asking how your patient is doing after being directed towards the hospital. I went over to Oakhurst for an emergency visit with my dog started limping bc as always, this place had no time for me.. it was about 32 minutes away and it was totally worth the drive. The staff over there is absolutely amazing and the exam was so detailed that I can’t even believe I accepted anything less from somewhere else. On top of the emergency visit for the limp, they gave him a wellness visit, that was the most detailed exam I’ve ever seen. This was the first time I’ve ever brought an animal over there, do you know that they followed up with a phone call today making sure that my dog was OK.. that’s how you take care of patients.

Our family has been using the Middletown Animal Hosp. since 2016 when we moved to the neighborhood and can only rate the Doctors and Staff with the highest praise possible.
