900 year old tree Oh my!! Are we still in Florida??? Nice short board walk. Off road so make sure you have good tires.

What a great off the beaten path lil gem! Today was my 1st time & was very neat to see up close. The path leading up to the tree was nice as well. Only giving 4 stars due to maintenance of signs & front sign missing poster inside, trash can loaded full up front & no bathroom area if necessary. Great experience otherwise!! Gotta love those FL noseeums too lol

Love this place! Nice drive to get to the trail boardwalk has been cleaned and pressure washed, the tree is beautiful! They have Tables to eat lunch. Very nice wasn't disappointed at all. I Recommend making a stop at this trail if you appreciate nature and trees this is a nice place to stop and see.

This trail is a bit lengthy to get to, and be sure to make room for other moving vehicles since the road to it has surrounding marsh on the sides. Upon entering, the trail is covered in pebbles, and it is rather short. Mainly to see a large cypress at the end. The bug level can be pretty high on certain times, so be wary of horse flies as they can be persistent. Same goes for taking precautions of bears, and potentially boar encounters.

You may find fish in Cow Creek or in some of the little ponds. The FWC is very strict about the un-posted visiting hrs. Apparently it's a misdemeanor to even be on the long dirt rd at night. There are no signs indicating that the area closes.. to bad as the lack of ambient light from towns makes this place ideal to star gaze.
