The Dawson Forest is a great place for outdoor adventures like kayaking, hiking, fishing, hunting, camping and more. I’ve kayaked the Etowah River with the Georgia Kayak Fishing Club. Check out the group on FB for more trips. Amazing experience with great friends! Side notes, don’t trash this place. If you pack it in, pack it out. Always wear a life jacket on the river.

Road closed on nearly every access point. No way to find this out without driving several hours to get to Dawson.

Depends on the time of year on what gates are open. I know somewhere on a website I'm sorry but I don't know which one, but it will tell you what gates are open and when. Hope this helps. Happy trailing!
