5-29-2022 the city is repaving the trail, which is good. However, portions are closed. The closed photo is around Mile Mark 10 near the power station building/ check point. We got on at Mile Mark 6 and had to stop at 10. You can still ride from 6 to 1 in the other direction. Or start at 14 and ride to 10. Temporary issue. The repaved poetions are smooth and well marked.πŸ™‚

I started cycling at the Baldwin Trail-Rail about 1-month ago & I am now up to 25-miles, 2 times per week. The trail is well maintained, has mile markers & is very scenic. A good portion of the trail is tree lined & there are several stopping points along the way with a few bathrooms & picnic areas at the rest stops. Also, there are several bodies of water & a pond with goats/ lambs & farmland with cows & horses that are visible along the way. The lot where I park is adjacent to a park that memorializes the first individual from Baldwin that was killed in the Vietnam War. The only negative part of this trail is that you can caught waiting up to 45-minutes when a train goes by & this happens fairly often. This can take place while you are on the trail or in your vehicle coming or going to this location.

Great cruiser bike ride, complete with giggles and gators...wished I was on my carbon gofasty cuz the trail is smooth and flat but cruisers rock and my dad's old Schwinn trike converted to cruiser was in service tho it lost a pedal...great family ride!!

This spot on the trail is the middle of the trail for the most part. We like starting here cause we can go towards Baldwin and be able to use the bathroom and the kids can play a bit. Get back on the bike and head back to the car. The trail is fantastic and people are so friendly. Great way to get comfy on the bike. We plan to go towards Jacksonville next time and check that out. Great job on the trail.
