We don't have a developed beach area for swimming and there are unknown hazards and currents so we do not encourage it, However, we also cannot prevent it. We actually have a pool because the location at the confluence of two rivers make swimming particularly hazardous.
No. All Virginia State Parks have a maximum 14 night stay in one month rule.
They do not have grills inside the gated pool area but they do have tables with umbrellas in the grass area to sit and enjoy. They have other areas of the park where you can grill out though
I believe it's 5, there is one studio style one and 4x 2 bedroom. The two-bedroom ones one room is a queen size bed and the other room is bunk beds two of them have to bunk beds two of them have one bunk bed. I have stayed in them before they are really nice definitely worth the money. They also have a bunk house with 12 bunk beds I believe. They have a nice back deck, good kitchens with kitchen utensils etc. It's a great park to stay at, I took my family out the and they loved it. It's great for kids to ride bikes around, they have a large pool that was a lot of fun, plenty of fishing spots and a boat launch, and some absolutely fantastic views of the stars.
Only the Pocahontas pool will be open this season. See this link and convert it to Spanish at the bottom to see the explanation. https://www.dcr.virginia.gov/pr-relz-detail?id=2022-04-29-11-31-25-626197-fyx.
I'm not too sure. You can go on their website and look into it.
I didn't see any, but this is bear country so its possible.
We have quite a few trails rated moderate for biking. You might want to call the park and speak to staff on the conditions. 434-572-4623
If you live in the same county or buy it local to the park you can bring it.
The boat launch and campground are in separate areas. You can park your boat near your campsite when you are not using it. I do not know the current fees for a campsite. You can call for a reservation and fees.
Call the park and ask - 434-572-4623
As far as we know. You may want to check in the morning by calling 434-572-4623
I would say no , very shallow water ways also
Sorry, no. The roads are considered state roads and those laws apply.
No. Project planning is under way but we don’t have dates yet.
Don't come to South Georgia or north Florida. It's a mud pit down here
You have to bring your own horse. The only park we have with guided horseback riding is New River Trail State Park.
Some of the trails are closed due to flooding.
We have a moonlight canoe paddle Saturday evening http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks/park-event-info?id=SR180058-03. Our events list categories and one of them is Canoeing/Kayaking/Stand Up Paddlboarding - perhaps you saw that and thought it was a SUP program?
They really are more just moonlight paddles. You need to pre-register so call the park and they can give you what parameters they use to determine whether they will cancel.
Florence's impact is up into southern Virginia. With how wet it has been, it won't take much wind to start toppling trees. The plan is to open tomorrow but double check the park's website before heading out.
No, closed for the season.
No. We restrict stays to no more than 14 days in a 30 day period. You will want to check private campgrounds for long term rentals.
10-6 every day.
To go swimming it about 5.00 dallors at the pool
Trails do not close except for extreme weather. Equestrian campground is closed from the beginning of December until the beginning of March.
