Nice atmosphere. Food & service was mediocre.

Loved the music and the singer; absolutely fantastic! Food was sadly mediocre. I haven't been back for years as moved away and remembered it was so good. The cesar salad had way too much dressing on it, not on a cold plate. The chicken was almost gummy, the sauce tasted like chicken noodle soup with lemon in it. The chocolate cake was not fresh. I would only go back for the music and drinks. I am sorry to say that as it's such a lovely restaurant- reminds me of old New York.

Ate at Altobeli's to celebrate husband's milestone birthday. Party of 5. Nobody ordered alcohol. Drinks served (soda/water/iced tea) with no ice and soda was flat. Ordered 2 appetizers: stuffed clams and fried zucchini. Both portions were very small, especially the clams and the clams itself were tiny and got only like 5. It did taste good though. All of us had the house salad which was also a small portion size. Little bit of lettuce, 1 tomato and a little bit of dressing. Nobody really enjoyed it. For dinner: Eggplant Parm, Chicken Parm, Lasagna, a pasta dish with sausage and a vegetarian pasta dish. Portion sizes for the eggplant parm, chicken parm, and lasagna were all very small (comes with a bit of angel hair pasta on side). The eggplant was pretty good, some thicker slices not cooked evenly. My husband liked the chicken parm a lot but again, portion size very small and the chicken itself very thin (and yes, I know chicken parm is thin but oh my this was way too thin). He finished the chicken in about 4 or 5 bites. My BIL liked the lasagna but, again, small portion size. The pasta dishes were just okay. I like that it's a family owned business but the it's too expensive for what you get.

We arrived later in the evening and they could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The owner was very sweet and welcoming. He made us feel like we were dinner guests at his home! The food was delicious, fresh and authentic. Pictures are the Jumbo Shrimp Scampi and Antipasto Plate. We also had the Calamari and Eggplant Marscapone for Appetizers. Everything was fantastic! There was live music when we arrived that added nicely to the ambiance.
