I honestly hate having to write something like this, but I can't keep my story silent. We rescued a cat two years ago that turned out to be FeLV+. We have two other cats that were exposed to him. They tested and vaccinated the first one. They refused to test the second, saying it "didn't matter" and just vaccinated. They never informed us that the vaccine is not completely effective, nor did they tell us it requires a yearly booster. Our FeLV+ cat is in the last stages of his life and when I tried to bring him in to be seen they told me they didn't have anything open for nearly two weeks, and were absolutely unconcerned about his FeLV status. By then he would have been dead. Please do yourselves a favor and find a vet that continues their education, reads current literature, and takes care of their patients. They never recommended any kind of maintenance checkups for our FeLV+ cat or suggested any kind of routine blood work to check his numbers. He is now severely anemic and has lymphoma. While none of this could have been prevented, it could have been caught earlier, before it became so severe. I am deeply disappointed in the vets here, and very thankful to the doctors and staff at Cascade Vet for doing what a conscientious medical professional SHOULD do - treat their patients. If you love your pets, do not bring them here.
