I couldn’t believe how rude the staff here at the Brookhaven Town Hall was to a member of the public just because they were filming while conducting their business at the hall. It all began right when he walked in and the front Public Security staff member later identified by his supervisor as ‘Hayden’ was rude immediately to him. Kept repeating the same question that the citizen kept answering, but refused to not take any answer that wasn’t absolutely specific to which department he wanted to go to when he already specified every department to record the whole experience in the hall for documentation as a journalist. Hayden also refused to identify himself to the citizen even going so far as to then after keep covering his name tag so the citizen couldn’t make a complaint to his superiors. Shocking that they don’t already understand that It’s completely legal to photograph in public spaces that’s accessible to the public in a public building. 90% of the staff didn’t even greet themselves before demanding answers and barking hostile orders to leave the building. In particular the lady in the blue clothing in the photo even muttered “A*****e”, which was completely uncalled for especially when the citizen in question was polite and minding their own business. The other staff member that was quite rude was David, Town Attorney as he identified himself after which he demanded answers and when asked his name replied “It doesn’t matter who I am, Im asking a question”. Then a fellow staff member of his said “Don’t bother engaging”, to which he replied back “Oh he’s one of those?..” and walked away. Later he approached the citizen again and demanded what business he has, and even though the citizen didn’t have to answer he did. Eventually David finally left the member of the public alone to go about his freedom to already do so. I hope this was a learning experience for all the public workers here, and that they all show a little more kindness in the future.

In 2014 I called 8 times from January - July. In Oct. of 2017 the same light was out again it took over a month for the light to be repairs and now July 2018 it is not working again! There has to be a better way....
What do you expect from a Democratic administration? I've seen sharp changes when the GOP runs the gov and everyone has to put in an honest day's work, like maintenance crews actually having to do something, and snow plows having to plow roads instead of sitting on the side of the road when some dirty S. O. B. put GPS devices on the plows and fired drivers when they just sat idle. They fired them, and gave another driver their plow that very day. That governor had to go!
