Went for a day to scout if it would be nice to camp there. Lots of camping spots. Unpacked roads but mostly flat untill you get further up. Rocky ground everywhere. No shade. Good place to find crystals.

I loved camping here. I went in December and passed some other campers but couldn't see anyone from my spot, so it felt very private. There was chalcedony all over the ground, a few saguaro and other cactuses, and a great view of the mountain nearby. It didn't get too cold- it was 45° when I went to bed around midnight. Town is a 20 min drive, they have a travel stop with food and showers.

Awesome fire agate for you rock hounds out there!

Beautiful spot with lots of options for level camping. Good access though do be careful for the washes closer to the rocks, some short sections there are impassible and you don't want to end up backing out. The road in is perfectly fine for all rigs. Typical winter wind, no flies at the moment, and crystals to find!

YES!! Absolutely do it- You will not be disappointed. We spent weeks there last winter. It's a bit far for shopping, but it's worth it.
There are some really amazing spots to tent camp that are in areas where the RVers can't get.
This is an open desert boondocking location. Pack in and pack it out.
Our camper is 45 ft & we had no problem.
