I was helping a homeless man when he stopped at this church to charge his phone on the front patio area. That’s when a gentleman by the name of Rose came out before I could apologize for my new friend charging his phone Rose explained it was perfectly fine and even invited us in for the 5:00 PM service. Although, my homeless friend didn’t make it back for the service I was intrigued by the gentleman’s behavior and it was refreshing to see someone not condemning or judging just loving! When I came into the church I immediately felt home! Like I’ve been there before-like I already knew everyone but it was in fact all new to me. I’m not one to punish people with my singing ability but I couldn’t help myself; I felt the holly spirit! The only thing I would change is.. I wish they had more than one sermon a week and more bible study as well. The sermon was very personal, moving, inspiring and filled me with a hope and understanding I haven’t had in years. My mouth was open the whole time and I just couldn’t believe how well the gentleman giving the sermon truly touched my heart! I’m not one to socialize but after the sermon I felt an inviting spirit to meet new people and introduce myself as if it were a family reunion. I can’t wait to go back! I don’t know why I felt so welcomed and un-judged but it was one of the best churches I’ve ever been too! Small town vibe, big time heart and the people I met there were very genuine. Thank you all for having me and please keep up the good work! 🙂

Wow mr preacher man how dare you of accusing me of saying something to you about the neighbor that lives under you. I have never told you anything about my friend. However when we briefly met I brought to your attention about your boys possibly beating up my plants. Don't get me in the middle and make up lies about me. Because if you are really a man of GOD would not lie on people. If you want to talk in person I'm ready to meet up with you anytime.

The name is based on Scripture and came straight from the Bible.. Corinthians 4 10-18. Specifically Corinthians 4:13. "when we are slandered, we answer kindly. We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world—right up to this moment." When Scum was founded 19 years ago, the founding members were made up primary of young artists, musicians, and street kids who didn't fit in to the norn and did not feel comfortable with a conventional church setting.
