I had a windshield replaced by them a few years back, now it is leaking from the top. Safelite never picked up the phone, I was stuck with their IVR system to get through to an actual person, so I booked an appointment with another company. It turns out that Safelite had done a horrible job installing my windshield, not using proper rivets, etc and gluing the windshield in place, which has now caused leakage and even rust to the underlying frame. I will never trust Safelite to touch any of my cars again.

This is honestly the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I made a mobile service appointment and received confirmation emails/texts. The tech never showed and from what the customer service rep told me “I never had one assigned.” Customer service tried their best to help me but they couldn’t reach this garage. They called me 2 hours past my appointment, lied to me and said the tech had to cover another appointment When I tried to call the site they never answered and they don’t have an answering machine so couldn’t leave a message. I had to go to their garage and set up an on-site appointment…which took the convenience of why I wanted a mobile appointment. They said they’d give me $100 discount for my trouble and fumbled around trying to do it for 20 min. I thought they did but charged me the full price instead. I went back to ask to fix this and the supervisor panicked with excuses why it hasn’t (apparently it was his fake assistants fault). Still hasn’t been refunded. This place is a clown show…avoid it and save yourself the headache.

*Reading some other reviews, it's clear I should have come here and seen others' less-than-pleasant experiences first. Caveat emptor indeed.* I filed a windshield claim through my insurance company, which just so happens to be partnered with this business nationally. At time of writing, they were supposed to have come out a week ago. Not only did nobody show up, but nobody called, texted, or emailed to reschedule my appointment. On top of that, when I attempted to reach out multiple times to see about at least partial compensation as a result of a screw-up that was NOT on my end, nobody but nobody was willing to take my call and inquiries (the customer service reps were nice enough and did what they could-not their fault). Absolutely unacceptable. I wound up fully canceling my appointment and will also be taking my business elsewhere (hopefully to a dealership where things will actually get done). I had seen ads for this company with hope they'd live up to their quick service-with-a-smile depiction. Not so, and even though they appear to have another location a bit down the road, this trainwreck of a time has made the thought of experiencing something similar that much more unpalatable. Don't think I'll be relying on this company again. This isn't how you make customers happy, SafeLite.

Questions & Answers

I have a windshield on a car I just purchased. The windowshield looks like the previous owner did not replace the windshield wipers and it left marks on the glass can this be fixed or must I replace the whole windshield?

You may need to replace the whole windshield. Safelite is a good place to check out for service and price. I would also deal with person who sold the car to you.
