No they just have to been served in the military
My brother-in-law is the treasurer of our local post. Every quarter he has to get his paperwork signed by me & a few others. Is it ok for a relative to constantly sign the paperwork since other members can sign it & they aren't related???????

My wife signs for me so I see no reason why not however you should call to make sure and/or notify of intent.
do you have to be prior service to serve in the VFW? or is someone claiming false valor?

Yes you have to have served in a combat zone or have been given danger pay

What happens to the proceeds obtained from post once it has been placed in situation of not being active to post members or active so
Social members. The post furnishings and game tables are not utilized for post activities?
