Very interesting place! So much history here. This site has been used for many different purposes over the centuries!

Very interesting to see. Places are all scattered. The on-site map was helpful but we still got confused on some things. There are two parking lots you'll want to get out from. I didn't go up the trail past the dam, so not sure if there's a thing worthwhile up there. There aren't any guard towers. Just the cement that used to hold them in place.

A great, quiet place with a lot of history.

Camp Michaux offers a serene and secluded nature environment on South Mountain just hundreds of feet from the Appalachian Trail. The history of WWII German and Japanese Prisoner of War (POW) interrogation at Camp Michaux is something to read more about. The location, reclaimed by nature is both haunting and beautiful.

No posted hours. The Appalachian Trail has the nearby Tom's Run shelter for camping overnight. Stealth camping is only allowed for one night, backpackers only, and Leave No Trace (meaning no fires, etc). Nearby Pine Grove Furnace rents out campsites for any other type of camping.
