What a cool place to stop, especially with your kid. This is a world-famous location of a world-famous groundhog named Phil. I love that it's only 45 minutes from my house. I have never went up there during groundhog's Day but I think that is something that I may go ahead and do this year. Cool, peaceful, little stop

I've always want to come here. And today the opportunity presented itself. This is the cutest thing I ever imagined it would be. And now I just need to come back when it's actually time for the groundhog lol

I had never been to Punxsutawney on 2/2. Quite the event. I've seen the movie 100 times, but being there should be on everyone's bucket list. Start @ 3am, wear a coat, & enjoy the day

Get up early and join the fun activities where folks from all different states, different countries, and locals folks too come to see the one and only Great Prognosticator Punxsutawney Phil make his perdition on whether there will be 6 more weeks of winter or an early spring. Visitors center on site with gift items, souvenirs, hats, t shirts, history of the groundhog. If you haven't been there before this is one that you should put on your bucket list.

Phil is an immortal spirit. There is one Phil who giveth and taketh away the winds of winter.
This would take too long to answer here, but it is well documented at Gobbler's Knob itself as well as online.
Yes, but how, no one knows (it was completely cloudy), so it's 6 more weeks of winter. He's usually wrong, so get your skiing in sooner than later.
Yes absolutely. You can walk around the grounds where the ceremony is held and there is a path through the woods that is kind of neat to see. Also Phil lives in the library in town and you can see him any time through the window.
The Pantall Hotel was depicted in the movie, which was filmed in Illinois. The hotel is for sale and you can check it out on the Powell & Associates website for more information.
If he sees his shadow it is 6 more weeks. Also Phill has NEVER been wrong! Feb 2 is both 6 weeks from spring and right around the corner (in 6 weeks) from spring. But it is a great event. I drive 6 to 8 hours every year to be there.
