The staff at the front desk were not helpful, and actually made us feel unwelcome as guests of members on our first visit there. Once in the pool, the lifeguard of the slide, used by children, just closed it and walked away during two open swim times. Perhaps the guard taking a break when the kids are not in the pool would make more sense. Just a bad experience when we were looking forward to pool time with our 3 year old granddaughter. Paying $14 to enter, and then having the visit go as it did assured we are not intetested in going back.

Came here with my 3 sons for swimming just to find out that the signs up front say only open for members and guests. This place isn't even busy today. Bad way to run a business. Too bad they won't be getting any of my money. We won't return!

It's a nice pool. However, weekends they only allow members. For an adult during the week, North Canton resident pays $14.00. The concession stand would be nice if they offered a better variety of food, it is mostly snacks, yes you can bring your own cooler, but sometimes it's a last minute decision, so we don't, and the food selection is poor. However, you can have food delivered there. It is very clean and well supervised. However, I agree with a lot of reviews about the management and lifeguards. My grandson was in the splash area and was yelled at about nothing. I confronted the woman, not sure if she was management, but was not friendly at all! Also, they used to have a basketball thing in the pool, my grandchildren and I were playing and some teenager boys came, which I didn't mind but they were warned about being rough on the hoop, all of a sudden the young lifeguard took the ball away, knowing my granchildren and I were doing nothing wrong. I felt it was very unfair, that we were punished from playing the right way! I wish there were more public swimming areas around. When you check in it is a lengthy process. I just don't see the need for it! Also, ran in to problems of the concession stand, they run out of a lot of things many times! Like I said before could update the confession stand!!! They would actually make more money! 5 stars for being clean, but maybe 3 for staff, 2 stars for concession area. I edited this posting. So that is the reason I jumped around the topics so much! Lol. Again we need more public pools around the area. There is just not that many. I have gone to Meadowlake pool, we you actually just pay to get in, and not have to go through a long process of checking in. Many times less crowded, but the water seems to be colder, they are friendlier and you can have floats, not as nice of a pool as Dogwood but they do have 2 diving boards, a small concession stand inside the pool area, plus a place in the golf shop you could get food, but the last time I was there, the menu in the golf shop was limited. They used to have really good grilled food-hamburgers, chicken fingers, etc. Maybe it was just they day I went. Also my grandson actually likes it better than Dogwood bc he can go on the diving boards. He can swim, but Dogwood makes kids take a test to be in the deep area. I know it's for safety but honestly us as parents/grandparents should be allowed to make that judgement. We do not want anything tragic to happen to our children. When my granddaughter took the test at Dogwood, she failed for some reason, this is a girl that is a water rat...lol. has been in the ocean, etc. certain lifeguards will pass anyone, others if you do something minor wrong, will fail you. She was so upset, that she didn't want to take the test again. I feel the parent or guardian knows there child's ability more than a teenager lifeguard. I would surely not take a chance of something happening to her, if I knew she could not pass the test, I would not let her take it. Again, I understand safety precautions, but some kids get nervous having to take a swimming test infront of strangers. It is OUR job to watch OUR children at the pools not just the lifeguards. I have been to Clearwater, Dover Pool, Waterworks also- no one makes you take a test. I just feel when you go to a swimming area, it is YOUR responsibility to watch your children and to know their swimming ability. You can't rely on just the lifeguards, they are not babysitters! Enough said...Dover is more of a drive but cheaper to get in, very nice pool, probably the best price pool around this area. Waterworks in the falls is very nice, was there a few years ago-have some waterslides & lazy river along with a pool, but the price probably has really gone up and again a ways away.

You can sign up for text alerts. I get immediate notifications if it's closing, which it did today for the storm. For future reference it's 30 minutes after the last thunder unless it's close to the end of the day then they'll just close. But I strongly suggest getting the text alerts
