Definitely worth stopping and walking around. Seeing all of the names really makes you appreciate our military. There is a pond full of ducks and turtles, military statues, and beautiful plants. If you cross the hwy, there is a nice view of the water.

The park itself has a multitude of different memorials, with a central pond being the main focal point. There is lots of nearby community rejuvenation, making the park feel much safer during the day than it once did. This is a good place to pay respects, have a picnic, go for a walk, or just reflect. There are temporary bathrooms. Parking can get full during peak times.

As I happily tell people worldwide: With the exception of Arlington National Cemetery, this is THE VERY BEST veterans memorial in the entire country. And I say that after having visited The Arizona memorial and Punchbowl National Cemetery in Hawaii, Gettysburg, Mound Cemetery in Marietta, Ohio, and the full-size Wall on the Mall in DC. Nowhere else can I go to pay my respects to all my ancestors from Revolutionary War General Jonathan Dayton up through trying to find healing from Vietnam by touching my cousin's name on Wall South and honoring my youngest nephew's service in Gulf War 1 and my adopted brother's contributions to the War on Terrorism. It's ALL here in one place and the best hidden tourist secret in Pensacola. Be sure YOU don't miss it!
