UPDATE: Edgewater reached out to me and they said they would get back to me about making the rent more affordable. They never got back to me. I called and left a follow up voicemail and haven't heard back. I have been a resident for 3 years and there have slowly been changes that make the building/company less appealing. Most recently, the rent increased by 19% for our lease renewal this summer. It's not feasible or sustainable to stay here when they raise the rates that high. They may say that there's inflation and such, but my salary has increased 1.5%. They are exempt from the Oregon law because it's a new building. Very disappointed with management for making that decision. I cannot recommend that people move here knowing that it's not feasible/sustainable.

(5/10 update: Called the number again to see if they'd actually do something about the situation, as they said in their reply. But nope. Further waste of time. The reply is "customer service theater" ... and I called again, just to have reiterated that nothing would change. Customer service tip: if you've already told the customer you can't do anything to help them, don't contact them again if that fact hasn't changed.) (original post) Had visited a friend here for years, and thought it was a nice community. Decided to move in. Had taken time off work and borrowed a vehicle to move my stuff into the building just days after moving in. The community marks reserved spots with big white letters RESERVED. I parked in a space that was not marked this the evening before. The next day, my car was towed. The company they work with does not observe the Oregon law of having your vehicle ready in 60 minutes. So hours later, and after paying over $400 to get my car back, I was back to square one, and had to take another day off to move. When I complained about this to the office, they just say its out of their control. And when I subtracted this amount from my subsequent rent, with a message explaining why, they ignored it, and hit me with an $100 late fee. The pamphlet they provided gives absolutely no information about the parking situation. They have community-specific names for parking spaces they expect you to know, or to understand because the tour guide quickly gave them once while you were viewing the unit. So, if the rent already seems pricey, consider you will more than likely be paying $400 over that at least a month until you learn by mistake what the rules are. Will change this review if this grievance is addressed. But if you see them comment, and I have not changed it, know its just "customer service theater" UPDATE: 4/11/ Community contacted me. Uncertain why, as they did not offer anything but excuses and demands. Told me that the bill cannot be subtracted from the rent, and that they cannot reimburse me with a check. They keep trying to make it a "rent dispute" -- hiding behind technicalities -- when all of my e-mails about the parking grievance were ignored. It is not a rent dispute. The community's poor layout and inadequate documentation cost me $412. Until the community rectifies that situation, I will withhold from only place we both have access to funds (the rent) as would occur in any renter/tenant dispute. Most amusing part in all of this is they are offering new residents $300 off to move in, and that I know residents who have in fact had their towing fees waived (though they are now denying it.) I tend to trust my friends of 7+ years over a community representative, though. Case with BBB is moving forward. UPDATE: 5/3 (Reply) Edgewater did not "attempt" to contact me. They DID contact me. I spoke with the manager for 20 minutes, going around in circles. If the community wishes to make things right, knock the cost off of my next rent, and say so in an email. I don't have time to call the office just to get a runaround. And clarification: the parking info they "provide" is on a pdf on an ipad when you first sign. You cannot access it until you create a profile for billing.

How much for a 1 bedroom?

K Peterson | Apr 20, 2020
Lori Johnson | Apr 21, 2020

The price varies because there are several 1 bedroom floorplans which are all shown on the website. Also, there are additional fees for covered parking, pets, and utilities. But it's a great community!
