Yes and yes. It does depend on the brand as well. I bought 150 feet for about $50 couple years back. Worked great but cracked this year. It had lifetime warranty so got it replaced fairly quickly by following some steps.

Does HD still replace screen for sliding doors or must I purchase the entire screen door?

They have screens available for purchase in a few different sizes. They're very easy to install on your own. If you buy the correct size it should just pop in.
