The service is consistently late. Sending emails to the HQ on King Street has proved a waste of time. In my mind, the VRE is an expensive version of Metro...they know people need to get to work and they pretty much do what they want. I typically get to work late because the train is often late. Seats are typically packed no matter when your ride. If you're a first time rider, there's no rhyme/reason to how they inspect tickets it's when they feel like it. People who get on later pretty much get a pass on this. Get there about 5 mins early and be careful in the gravel side of the lot- it's a bumpy mess! There are no bathrooms at this station, you'll have to hold it until you get on the train or to your destination.

great vre station as well as the park and ride im only giving 4 because it was a little hard to find it other than that it is a great station for taking the Virginia railway express or checking out other trains passing through

Best way to go north during the week!

Fredericksburg has a coffee shop open less than 100 meters from the station.
You could take the VRE to the Metro then to the zoo.
