I called to make an appointment yesterday (1 August) for my 4-year-old to get his 2nd Moderna COVID shot. The Rappahannock Health District graphic recommends making an appointment, so I wanted to make sure that I gave us the best chance to get his shot today (2 August). I was told that an appointment wasn't necessary and that we could come in between 8-noon and 1-4. We arrived at 3:45 only to be told that they stopped giving shots at 3. I told them that I had called yesterday, that I was told they gave shots until 4, and that even though I requested an appointment, they weren't going to make one. They then asked if they could make an appointment for next week. I said no, I'll just take him to Orange County tomorrow. Go anywhere else, no matter how far you have to drive. The employees are unprofessional, the lady on the phone was terse (she gave the very clear impression that she was unhappy about having to give a COVID shot) and the request to make an appointment for next week today when they refused yesterday was a slap in the face.
