No dawn to dusk
The small dog area is enclosed with a split rail fence and wire mesh. The entrance is a double gate system where you come in, close the first gate, take off the leash and open the second gate. I would say it is escape proof, unless your dog digs a hole under the fence or can jump 4+ feet over the fence to escape.
