The owners are so friendly and inviting. The house is warm and welcoming and their breakfasts are delicious! I've been staying at the Smithton on and off as I've been working in Ephrata for the last few weeks and this establishment really has become my home away from home.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Smithton. The inn is beautiful, the amenities are great! The bed sheets were the morning at incredible feeling we felt like we were laying on a cloud! Breakfasts were delicious and our host Rebecca was the very best! Thanks for a great stay ❤️

If you want a really cool place to relax for a few hours this is it. The property is historic and beautiful. They book really good live music. The wine slushies are very good. As a local I haven't stayed overnight but it is certainly not out of the question. I can't review the rooms having not stayed but if the other amenities on the property are any indication of the room quality I have nothing but confidence in an overnight experience.

YES!!! We recently made a major investment in our Internet. It was tough, 18 inch thick stone walls don't make robust WiFi easy, so we hard wired every single guest room to ensure the best Internet experience for our guests. Every guest room could be on a Zoom call at the same time and you still wouldn't have buffering!
All the guest rooms in this historic B&B have new, double pane windows, which blocks out 'normal' road noise. The B&B was built as a stage coach stop in the late 1700s though... so it's on a main road (322) and trucks & motor cycles can be louder than normal vehicles. If you're worried about the noise, choose a room that faces the back of the house (#1 - Sage, #5 - Red or #6 - Crimson Dove Suite).
The Crimson Dove Suite has a 2-person jacuzzi tub with rain shower. The Tailor's Cottage has a large, single jacuzzi tub with a separate shower. Both of these suites have king sized beds.
Sorry, the fireplaces in our guest rooms are closed during the warm weather months (typically April - October). We have a great firepit in the back garden that guests can enjoy though!
Yes, the B&B has 2 pet friendly options. The Tailor's Cottage (one of our King Suites with a jacuzzi tub) and the Smithton Guest House - a vacation rental property with a fenced in back yard. We (of course) allow registered service dogs in all our guest rooms.
Yes, is just 19 miles north of the Sight & Sound theater and it's an easy drive for our guests. You can choose to take the highway route (just 3 roads), or do a scenic backroads drive to take in the beauty of Amish Country on your way to the show!
