Maher is not that bad believe it or not. On a good day I can usually do a double move in 3 hours. The drivers are what really make it bad. Just have patience, and have your information ready. The workers there don't really have time to explain to drivers how to do there job. If you need help learn to use the phone numbers that are posted all around the port, ask security, or go to the trouble window.

Go through the gates any that's say open have all your info ready and tell the clerk your just dropping off an empty and if your picking up a load have your container number that your picking up and your last four digits

Until 6:00 p.m. you can do it ... After that time only one. They close at 7:00 p.m. But try to be there if you want to do the double move at 5:45 p.m. Guys leave at 5:55 p.m.
Yes they charge for this. A lot of times they take it off site for inspection so you have to pay a trucker to bring it there plus the inspection and reload plus chassis and storage. If they have to bring it back to the port another fee for that. Nothing is free especially nowadays in 2021. Also nobody here on Google is going to tell you your container status.
I believe so...cause I mentioned to a worker of him enjoying his christmas and he said what christmas, I'll be working..its just another work day....unless he was kidding, I took him serious.
Good morning, I have a container at the New York Port but I need to open the container to confirm the correct cargo was loaded. Are there authorized companies in New York that can enter the port, open and check contents of the container?
