This place has issues with communication. Their administration staff while mildly nice don't communicate. They rescheduled an appointment that took some time to arrange my work schedule around and pushed me back a few months. Expect extra billing even though you asked if any additional procedures were covered by insurance and they said yes. Also when you deny labs they will still send it in and you'll recieve a bill for that. Physician and her assistant were really nice and did a great job. Front desk/administration is lacking. I paid my surprise bill and will never be using them again based on principle and the fact you can't ever get a hold of anyone. Very poor service. I really should have listened to the reviews.

DO NOT GO HERE. We went here as referred by a doctor and have been paying ever since. Total scam.

Please do not receive care from this company. It is impossible to get ahold of someone, you are rarely seen by a medical doctor or nurse - medical assistants handle most of your care - and your visits are over in under 5 minutes. The staff here are more interested in shuffling through as many patients as possible than offering thoughtful and quality care. For my aftercare for my excision surgery, I was seen by a medical assistant twice and both visits were less than 3 minutes long. The assistant said my scar looked good, despite there being stitches leftover in the scar that he didn’t remove. I now cannot get ahold of anyone at this office to receive follow up care and will likely have to pay out of pocket to fix their mistakes.

TERRIBLE service and OVERCHARGED for routine exam. They will up-code you. Please do not go here. I had 3 spots on my back to go to the lab. Two weeks later, I got a bogus $2500 bill that was illegible and encoded to over-charge me for my office bill and insurance. Due to their improper encoding and terrible customer service, insurance did not cover the full routine exam. I go to the dermatologist regularly and I never pay for routine exams. I called the billing department and they said there is nothing they can do and didn't even know how to explain the line items on my bill. To make matters worse, Affiliated Dermatology Old Town called me 90 days after the exam (I was told 10 days) and said the cells were precancerous. Wouldn't you want to share this information immediately with a client? I have a hard time believing anything they say and I will be looking for a different dermatologist. Please do not go here! UPDATE: The billing office refused to do a coding review with my insurance and they left me no choice but to pursue legal action. For your own good, please stay away from this provider. I went to another dermatologist for a second opinion and he said he does not trust the lab they use. On a side note, highly recommend Dr. Giancola at US Dermatology partners- he charged me $20 for the same procedure. We sent my slides to a new lab and they confirmed that the moles were only mild and I did not have them removed. I'm so glad I didn't let Affiliated Dermatology cut me open to only charge me more! UPDATE 8/1: false promises made by the owner in the comment below. No one reached out to me at Affiliated Dermatology. They don't care for their clients. My review stays the same. DO NOT GO HERE!

Questions & Answers

Do I need a referral to get an appointment at this location?

That depends on your insurance and what you are being seen for. If it is cosmetic or an annual visit, a referral is likely not needed.
