Free trail, plenty of parking space. Great trail, not too busy either. Just be careful of the mud after a heavy rainfall, you will sink. East side of the trail is nice but the west side under the overpass is even better. Might run into a deer or two as well.

This is a free trail with available parking. The only issue that I encountered was the lack of signage but if you read the reviews you should be fine. My recommendation is to head west through the overpass, I added a picture to show it. The trail is quiet and in some parts narrow with vegetation, wear pants and mosquito spray. I encountered very few people and thus it's an excellent place to disconnect. The path eventually leads you to a larger trail system which I would definitely like to explore later.

This trail head connects a couple of different trail systems. You can access the lake if you head East, but If you head under the overpass to the West, the Hickory Creek Trail system offers miles of relatively uncrowded trails with glimpses of the Lake Lewisville branches, hardwoods and decent shade. Part of the trail skirts the edge of a neighborhood, but it's a good place for some solitude and to connect with nature in the metro.

Nice trail. Short walks to the lake in multiple directions. It's a bit muddy in the spring
