Amazing place, educational, clean environment. The prairie dogs were my favorite. Definitely check this place out. It's free!

I love the zoo and I always have. I've been coming here since I was a kid and I still come back at least once a year to see the animals, my favorites being the otters, the bear, and the goats. It's barely changed at all in 15+ years. I'll have to come back soon because this place truly holds a special place in my heart!!!! It's also free and wheelchair accessible!

Beautiful location! A variety of wildlife animals from bears to sea otters, farm animals and even eagles (plus a bald eagle). Kids enjoyed their time here. Small zoo but definitely worth the drive out! Hope you enjoy your time here as much as we did :)

Nice little zoo of raptors that were injured in the wild. Some common farm animals. There are native flower gardens. There is an interesting playground for children with an architectural sand digging pit for artifacts.

Its probably a geocache?
if you go to their website they have trails highlighted for leashed dogs. dogs just aren't allowed in the zoo area.
No they do not.
According to staff, it wasn't in good shape, with a storm further weakening its structural soundness. The cost to repair it was astronomical, so, unfortunately, it had to be torn down.
Only in the picnic areas and campground.
I can't recall but it was very poisonesss!
There are no fees to visit the park or the zoo! We simply ask for donations as you see fit with donation boxes in and around the zoo. Enjoy your time outdoors!
The Zoo is open rain or shine cold or hot until 4pm. I visit in December, January and even February. The only animal that is not out when the weather is really cold late in the season is the bear. Enjoy your visit!! This is truly a wonderful place!!
I never saw any there, so I am unsure. Sorry.
No the keepers feed the animals
It's run as a county park. Also, a majority of it's yearly budget comes through donations as it is a free zoo. It is very nice for families, especially since it is free and has the learning center and the parks right there by the camping and trails. But as far as the hours go, that would need to be something brought up to Olmstead County and parks and rec, as I believe that should fall under their perview.
Yes they do, and they have some albino's too
It's an at-your-leisure experience. You can be through in 10 minutes, or you could be there for an hour or two. There are probably 20-ish exhibits, plus a park.
