I hired attorney Rubin to do a divorce I paid my initial retainer then I was told he needed more money and then a third time till I had paid $38,000 for a basic divorce no child and no property. I’m awarded 100% of my attorneys fees however attorney Rubin filed with the court that it only cost $15,000 when I paid him $38,000. Rubin keeps saying that he has staffing issues that he hasn’t had time to itemize my account and then I get a copy of my divorce decree where he attest that the amount attorney fees was only 15,000 then he tried to tell me that there could be more attorneys fees than what he filed with the court for the cost of the divorce alone not the contempt hearings which makes no sense sense he signed an affidavit with the court of it being only 15,000 then he even pulled that he didn’t remember any of this was going on I seen on the Internet where numerous people are having the same problem attorney Rubin even tried to claim the money that my husband was court order to pay to the attorney and the attorney forward to me so there was no chance of payment being lost in the mail rubin claimed as return of my retainer. Michael Rubin has my entire case messed up he even lost my file for a year. Contempt filings that should’ve been done within 30 to 60 days took over a year for him to do the paperwork. Be warned even the court has made comments in my case about Rubin not showing up for cases or last minute delays and his behavior in other cases was held against me in court. I had no choice and was forced to file formal complaints against him.
