I took my son to Corey after much to my surprise he didn’t make the 8th grade basketball team. I thought my son was more than good enough to make that team as he did play on the 7th grade team. Corey evaluated my son fairly and recognized immediately that while he had talent, no one had taught him the fundamentals, Basketball IQ and communication needed to be successful at a higher level of basketball. Corey has been training my son since March. Corey made a plan for him and since then he has guided my son through this process and turned him into a highly skilled player on the court. He’ll go to ninth grade tryouts next week as one of the top players in his grade. I’ve heard he may even be considered for the JV team. Any coach can talk a good game but not all can show you results. I have seen better results with Corey and his staff than with any other trainer. I’ve seen the other kids Corey has trained and how good they are. Corey knows what he’s doing and any kid who trains with him and listens to him will be fundamentally sound with a high basketball IQ. You can’t ask for much more from a trainer. I would highly recommend him regardless of what level your child is playing at. UPDATE: my son did indeed make the High School JV team. He’s now a starter on the JV and he’s trying to work his way up to Varsity. Corey & Cordell will help show your child how they can succeed!

For those of you who are looking for a good experience for your child, this is not it. We were involved with the Coed basketball leagues. They are short seasons, and there is only 1 practice at the beginning of the season. Afterwards, it’s games where the coaches play the best players most of the time and filter in the lesser players for a very limited time each half. By the time the season is halfway through, some of lesser players stop coming to the games. If you’re a girl (whether good or not), the boys think twice about passing to them or including them in the plays. It eventually becomes the best players typically passing to their good teammates and making ill advised shots rather than including all their teammates on the court. The coaches also fail to coach the kids when they are on the court or sitting on the bench. Instead, the coaches get frustrated and harp more on players negative actions rather than encourage positive actions. It seems obvious that the coaches are there for a paycheck rather than to be a good coach to the kids. If you do chose this option for your kid, then prepare yourself for this atmosphere and don’t be surprised if this experience is not positive. This is now an event my child remembers as a negative rather than a positive experience.

The clinics, camps, leagues and individual trainings are all deliver high-quality coaching for skills on and off the court. The coaches take a personal interest in my kids' success.
