What an experience! This is really a MUST SEE area to enjoy a sacred place for several Indian tribes. The Free admission and easy to navigate trails make this a very cost effective way to wear out the kids and the dog (allowed on trails with a leash). $8.00 per car load for a 24 hour day pass is a real bargain. Plan on spending several hours. With the Visitor center included with a video and cultural area and than the trails. A good time for all.

We really liked this state park outside of Sioux Falls. It is very big with wide and clean trails! Cool to be down by the river and look over at Iowa

Great park for hiking! Awesome views and variety of trails. Skill level moderate to medium, medium due to some incline in places.

A beautiful visitors center and wonderful trails. During our visit we we're lucky enough to see a bald eagle from observation deck number 2. Even though it is winter the terrain is such that I was able to bring my kids and pull them being me in our sled.

A day pass to the state parks is $6 for a vehicle
Yes they do. They have a volunteer day in April.
There is usually not anyone there during winter. If there is anyone you just pay for park entrance for the day which I think is 5.00
No
Good question...id call the visitor center.
I don't think so, but Big Sioux Recreation Area does not too far away.
