Worst shelter and city ever. My little Maltese got out for the first time ever. My daughter had it out and it got loose while i was at work. A neighbor called and he was picked up. He is up to date on his rabies. They charged $45 because he wasn't registered with the city. I have not seen or heard anything about that being a requirement. And they microchipped him as well. Again there is no law that your animal is required to be chipped. I will be seeing if there is any action I can take.

Last year I brought in a severely injured wild rabbit, and although they said the rabbit would have to be euthanized, they were very kind and gentle, and showed great compassion to the rabbit and to me.

Really unimpressed with the lady answering the phone.. short, rude, and cold. They won’t even let you schedule an appointment to come see the animals. I’d rather drive an hour to find a cat than deal with this woman. What a joke.

Great place with friendly, wonderful, understanding people!! Very clean and the pets are happy! ❤ Because it's a small shelter it feels like family! When I had to have my little dog put down, I was heartbroken. I went on the Allen shelter website and found the PERFECT puppy!! I adopted Steve and found the friend I needed!! He is happy and healthy!! I highly recommend the Allen shelter!! 😉🐶

I would check with Allen Animal Shelter directly, but I would guess 17-18 years of age.
You can view adoptable pets by visiting the shelter or by browsing this link: https://www.petfinder.com/search/pets-for-adoption/?shelter_id%5B0%5D=TX276
At times yes. You'll just need to call and see if there are any at that moment
Do you find homes for kittens with a No Kill policy
You have to go see the dogs
We got a cat not long ago for $95. That covered spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, and microchip.
Right now there's only a male rat that isn't available until next Fri.
Yes
Since this is just a wild animal living in the wild, the Allen Animal Shelter won't likely be able to help much (they deal mostly with pets, strays and roadkill). However, you can contact the Texas Parks & Wildlife department (tpwd.texas.gov). They have volunteer animal re-locators that may be able to assist.
If they bite and draw blood they quarantine them to eliminate possibility of rabies. You have to pay for the quarantine boarding and the surrender fee. Call for details.
They are in need of volunteers! And the afternoon especially for walking the dogs.
You will need to call the shelter in the morning after 10am. Good luck.
Thanks so much Jeanette for thinking of the Shelter. They would be more than happy for your donations. Anything that the Shelter can not use they pass on to other agencies.
Most likely.
I would call them and ask. Some places require only a drivers license and some also request a ulility bill or something as proof of residency. I don't know what is required at Allen. Our fur babies belonged to our kids who could found themselves unable to keep them. I love my grand dogs.

Not on site but on call, to the best of my knowledge.
