My husband and I had an amazing experience at Grey Gables! Everything from the food to the service was of superb quality. The ambiance was cozy yet very classy, and we were greeted by a friendly hostess who escorted us to a perfect corner spot. Our server Ken was very friendly and helpful. He recommended the baked and stuffed white fish, so I ordered that and my husband ordered the stuffed Dover special. We also had some tasty scones and warm bread while we waited for our meals. We were both over the moon with our choices. I seriously wish I could go back in time to eat this meal for the first time again. I had a sweet Riesling from the expansive selection of wines, and we finished up the night with a baked peach crisp with some ice cream. It was a perfect fancy date night, and we can’t wait to come back to visit!

How did we not know about this place?! It’s been there since 1936 and we’ve visited Charlevoix numerous times. It’s a gorgeous Victorian house with tons of dining area spread out in different rooms. It’s off the beaten track, so you have to know it’s there. We didn’t have a reservation on a weeknight in October. Hubby and I each had the Broiled White Fish. Absolutely scrumptious!! I think I “yummed” out loud several times! The vegetable that came with it was broccoli, which I have trouble digesting. When the waiter asked what I could substitute, he said cauliflower, which is also difficult for me. I asked for a salad then , which he said they’d have to charge for. But later, he came back and said they could do beans at no charge. Done! I also had a Brandy Alexander, which was awesome. They have a huge wine list and decent beer list as well. We will be back!!!

Wife and I made reservation at 830pm. Decided to take a walk there from the bridge area since it was a nice night out, about 10 minute walk. When we got there the hostess told us they did not have any reservation and didn't know you could reserve online. We asked her how long the wait was and she said over an hour so she couldn't seat us. She said we could sit at the bar though. We asked her if we could sit and order food and she said yes. But we had to make sure to ask her that it would be over an hour to get our food though right and she said yes over an hour. Don't understand why their website would accept reservations and they would still sit people if they were that backed up. I understand that there are staffing issues everywhere right now but it's up to the owners/ management team to manage that. Manage your site, and your seats. If you are short staff stop taking reservations or make sure on your sight you note that there are staff issues and manage your tables. You make your staff and workers look bad because they have to deal with it.

Decent food. Really on the pricy side with $40 to $60 entrees. The bathroom is really small and tight. They tried to fit a urinal and toilet in a small half bath. The toilet doesn't have a door. Not sure if bathroom has a lock if you need privacy.
