Nice hotel with great views of the lake. Excellent staff who were kind and courteous. They kept everything neat and orderly. One thing is the rooms with balconies that over look the harbor are not private :/ It's nice sometimes to have secluded outdoor space when trying to relax and focus on emails. But overall would come back again :)

We stayed at this hotel second time for a short family trip to Duluth and had a wonderful time again! Summer time offers a lot more activities on the property such as games outside and bike rentals, s’mores and concert views from your window, and the best part - it is all free! Kids really enjoyed warm pool after a long day of walking on the canal park and as a bonus we got to watch one of the longest vessels exit the harbor! Perfect little mini family vacation! Also huge Thank you to the wonderful staff for your exceptional service and hospitality!

First time visit. The overall impression was very good. Check in could have been more informative about how breakfast worked. Had dinner reservations & the hostess was grumpy. She tried to sit us at a high top in the corner next to the wait station in the bar area & when I told her we didn't request a high table her response was snotty that a reservation doesn't offer us a choice of table but sat us near the window in the lower area. I wouldn't go back even though the food was satisfying. Our waitress was busy and didn't check in with us enough. My biggest issue was the hot tub. Should be adult only. Instead it was a kiddy pool with floaters. Gross & disgusting what goes on in there. Not a feature that interested me. Should have had both fire pits open but instead only 1 and I'm not interested in sitting with strangers. Only real positive was our view from the room. It was amazing.

Its a really neat place filled with character and isn't your run of the mill hotel in a tourist town. The disappointment is mainly with the "No-Frills" basic amenities that one should expect with an expensive Mini Suite rate of ~$360/night. At this rate anyone would expect to have something as simple as complimentary bottled water supplied in the room and not have to go purchase from the vending machine at $3/each. That's insulting and flat out ridiculous for spending that much for a room. I know its a minor thing but its actually not and should be an amenity with renting a "suite" at that price point. A 3 Star hotel rating should get that part right. Unavailability of sundries, etc - we were in need of a wine cork puller and asked the front desk for one. The person did what he could to locate one and came through, but he ended up having to take the ONE that was from the bar and insisted I bring it back right away as he didn't know how many others the bar had. That's baffling that a simple item like that, which is a very common need when staying in a nice hotel, is not easily available. Its the small things that make the stay. I hate to seem petty but these little conveniences shouldn't be a thought. The hotel itself is nice and unique and has a lot of character. Has a great view and good food at the restaurant. But it seems to be stingy on normal hotel amenities that are either provided with the nightly rate or available for purchase at similar or even much cheaper price points.

They do have laundry services available for a fee. No machines for guest usage.
I don't believe so. Stayed several times, and have never seen players in the rooms or DVDs available.
Call the pier b desk and ask them,. Why would you think anyone would know about a certain day and time or circumstance for a complimentary breakfast. PS are you staying there or just a fan of free breakfast
You sure can.
