Adopted a wonderful kitten 2 years ago from them. Since then, I've been spammed relentlessly with donation requests in my mailbox. Adopting an animal in no way should involve me in your marketing infrastructure. My fiancée, who is male, attempted to volunteer there to keep the homeless animals company, he got passed over for the typical volunteer, blatant sexism. You won't take a male volunteer but you want my credit card info? Discriminatory and then you turn around and ask US for money. We can afford to volunteer, that's all we can do.

CONTINUING to subject dogs to go to a "foster" kennel that is not only incredibly uncleanly but has staff that cannot even handle the dogs they send over. Last foster dog bit MULTIPLE staff and said kennel did not disclose to Homeward. Now the new foster dog they sent over also bit staff at this kennel! Why would you continue to send dogs to a kennel that lied to you and cant even keep cleanly conditions? For shame, Homeward. Do better or own up to your continued mistakes.

I went to Homeward some time after losing the cat I had raised from birth. I wasnt looking for anything specific and I did feel heavily persuaded to adopt an older male cat that was slightly overweight. I wasnt opposed to this, I had come with an open mine, this was just something i hadnt super considered! I met Squirrel in 2020 and learned he was born at the shelter, adopted, abused, returned, and fostered. Squirrel doesnt necessarily love other felines, and didnt get along with his foster siblings, so he was given his own bachelor-pad-bedroom. I took him home as soon as I could. The best advice I was given was from his foster momma, who told me to ignore him and let him make the first move. It felt super weird ignoring this new guest in my one-bedroom apartmen, but a week later he was sitting in my lap watching tv with me, I couldnt pet him, but he was acknowledging me. A month in I would say we were friends, (Squirrel might tell you different...) this guy just loved to play, knead on fuzzy blankets, eat, and cuddle. What more could I ask for??? Squirrel has now been with me through 3 moves in 3 year and I feel we get closer every time. Squirrel is now almost 6 years old, is consistantly my little spoon, sleeps with me all night, RUNS to me when I call his name, follows me around the house, and has lost enough weight to get on the counter to find the butter! It's not a perfect relationship but every day I spend with him is great and i wouldnt trade him for anything!

Adopted both of my kitties from here and volunteer weekly with one of my clients. The staff are so invested in taking care of these animals and finding them good homes. It’s so hard not to adopt every cat I meet volunteering but I know they’re left in good care. Highly recommend supporting this shelter!!

Go to their website and you'll see what they have available they usually only get big dogs in a lot of people do not give up little dogs unless they are stray like I got my Fiona
Yes anything you donate can be used😊
Contact Homeward Animal Shelter directly. They can help you reunite with your pet.
Puppies are $300. Their website lists the prices for guardianship.
Ummmm I think Humane Society does not euthanize for the general public. Veterinarians do. Also, Fargo doesn’t have HS anymore.
I can't answer that question definitively yes, or no. I can clarify this site does not have or train animals to be assistance animals. It's good to also remember that these animals are shelter animals & many come from traumatic situations, which is likely not ideal for what you are looking for. That said, my daughters volunteer there & I have assisted. I toured the site, got the background and history from the director. They run a GREAT program. Volunteers come each hour to help socialize these animals. I would not hesitate to adopt, but not necessarily for a service animal. Hope this helps.
I would check the website for available dogs.
Homeward uses volunteers to perform dog walking duties. I have not heard of them paying people to walk dogs.
I have never seen any over there, but you can always call and ask them.
I do not believe they take guinea pigs but you can message Jazzy and Mambo's on the Facebook page and they should be able to tell you who does or perhaps they would take it in perhaps they could find a home for it as well
Yes you can! Call up to talk to the shelter but it's definitely a volunteer opportunity.
Yes they do when there are rabbits that need rescue from the pound.
call the police
I believe that if you are going alone the recommended age is 16 or 18 but I'm not sure. With a guardian I think any age but again I'm not positive
I got a cat nail clippers and did them myself. It"s work at first, but the cat will eventually adjust. Just know where the quick is.
4luvofdogs try there
Go there fill out the VOLUNTEER APP...THEY R ALWAYS LOOKING FOR DOG WALKERS
Yes none of the shelters here in Fargo put animals down unless when they are checked out by a vet that they have a very little chance of survival from anything major. They try very hard to find homes for dogs cats and any other animal they take in they go on donations from the public to keep things running Homewood was formerly known as Humane Society there is also for love of dog cat's cradle witches in Minnesota I think
I know there is an application you have to fill out to volunteer, so I'm assuming a background check just as they do for the adoption process. Hope this helps!
I also require a SERVICE ANIMAL..THESTAFF AT THESHELTER IS NOT educated withdifferenttypes ofservive animals I would suggest getting a SPONSOR...IM STILL WAITING it can taje up to 15 months
Yep they'll take whatever you can spare to give them it's nice of you to consider donating to the shelter kudos to you
You can give them a call and see if they can take the dog or you can call for love of dogs they handle big ones and yes they handle Pitbull and Pitbull mix this is not a immediate put down euthanasia on that breed in this town There's also diamond in the ruff
They have some cats but I'm sure they don't have a purebred
