I have family in the area and my mom loves this hotel so that's we stay. I drive down from the Minneapolis area and my mom from out of state. We usually book 2 of the nicer rooms with a patio which I love. I read some of the other reviews and some were a bit harsh I thought, but I understand being as lower priced hotels are a bit run down sometimes. I guess I feel like I get what I pay for. If I wanted a 5 star hotel I would have booked a room at the Hilton in Rochester. So here's what is good: We had hot water for every shower, the rooms were clean, I thought. Breakfast was great. Everything seemed to work. I didn't examine the ceiling for mold and I could have cared less about the pool, but I think it was open. The beds were ok, although my friend had a back ache from one of them for a week after. Towels seemed clean. The bad part was a particularly unfriendly Spanish girl when we checked in. She could use a beginner's course in hospitality. I returned my key to the front desk the morning we left to a middle aged lady that wasn't the best at forcing her smile. But what can u do? We will be back cuz that's what mom likes. And she's pretty picky lol.

A large portion of family booked into this hotel because of a funeral. Many traveled over 1500 miles. This being the only hotel in the area, we all stayed. One family me member bound to a wheelchair, had the bed break i his room. They moved him into another room, but, the door would not shut and lock.. One room had old food in the refrigerator. One room the guys had to put water into the back of the toilet to flush it. Another had to flush and then adjust the rubber snubber in the tank to get their toilet to work properly. There were stained towels, hand towels with holes and a wash cloth that shredded while being used. There was mold spots on some ceilings. Maid service, may not have existed as the girl behind the desk appeared to be doing it all until Monday morning. The rooms are all in need of a good dusting and detail cleaning. The pool was broken. Not that it mattered to us. The staff was friendly and trying to do their jobs. This hotel needs regional management to step in and step it up. As is, this is a $49.99 a night hotel. I gave 2 stars for the help trying to accommodate us given what their boss has given them to work with and for the unlimited use of the lobby for our large group. Because the hotel was full the night we all arrived, there were no other rooms to move into to avoid the problems listed. Stay in Rochester. There will be letters going to regional and corporate about the condition of this hotel and our experience(s) staying there. It needs owners who care about customers returning, reviews and what they have given their employees to work with.

Only here due to work... but will never return by choice. Pool and hot tub were "closed" yet fully functional the entire stay(yay windows). Exhaust fan in bathroom would only work when it wanted to and never at the flip of a switch. Bathroom door handle was litteraly there for show. Would latch only to unlatch once you let it go. Pillows have been mentioned over n over again along with sheets and the tired mattresses. Why was the water luke warm at best 7 minutes into every shower? I don't care to know. I'm just glad the stay is over.

Uniquely decorated lobby... Extremely clean room with hot showers (though the pressure wasn't the best). The bed had indentions from use but was still comfortable. Morning breakfast hours were really short (ended at 8am) and could maybe have a few more options. The pool was closed. No elevators for the second floor, so be prepared. Friendly staff members and overall very comfortable stay for the price! There is a restaurant/bar next door that we didn't eat at but looked like it had delicious dining options
