I called Holy Cross Cemetery to get some assistance locating my great-great-great-grandmother's grave, so that I can have a stone made for it. I had her exact date of death, full maiden/married name, and partial section/lot number. The woman I spoke with made it clear that "new burials are our priority" and that "we're not going to drop everything and locate this grave" (I didn't ask them to). She told me that "there are a LOT of people in this cemetery" and that "we might not ever find her grave." Not exactly great customer service. I wish I had a dollar for every time she told me "the records were not great back then" or some equivalent phrase. The Holy Cross Cemetery books are on Familysearch.org by the way, and although not perfect, they are well above-average for the 1880s (the decade when my ancestor died). The person I spoke with claims that she will be mailing me a full set of information, but I'm not planning on holding my breath. If I actually do receive anything even halfway useful, I'll bump the review up to an underwhelming two stars. I wish I had a time machine to warn my family to send everyone to Forest Lawn for their final resting place instead of this place.

This is so disrespectful to my parents. My fathers wishes were to have this picture put on when he passed as my mother passed seven months before him. They had called and ask that I remove it it’s not there policy. Well I looked on my dads papers and there is nothing saying about pictures. So apparently my son went there today 1/30/22 to put a bday card on there for his Pappys 85 th birthday today and this is the pic he took . As it looks like they tried to take it off themselves . Heart broken that they would even do shush a thing . This is my parents resting place for eternity and how dare they disrespect them in this way. My God Look Down On Those Who Did This.

Thanks be to GOD, for all of the Angels that have gone to rest here, Memorialized in a magnificent beauty in the name of Jesus. The venerable, Father Nelson R. Baker, whom commissioned Our Lady of Victory Basilica, is memorialized here with many other fellow Sisters and Brothers in Christ! Thank God for all of their selflessness and commitment to sharing in the Light of Christ, to Glorify God, and to truly walk as Jesus once did, to support the less fortunate, and bring sinners to know the Father, in Jesus name! Holy Cross Cemetery, an unimaginably Holy place to visit and marvel, all Glory to God for its existence and splendor. Do visit, again and again! So much wildlife, hundreds of deer, and the magnitude of the monuments are breathtaking and truly glorious to the LORD our GOD! If you only have time to visit one area in Buffalo, may OLV Basilica and Holy Cross Cemetery astound you, and awaken the truth of Jesus within you! God Bless!

I don’t have any loved ones buried here, I just like to browse cemeteries, and this one was very well kept with some fascinating headstone displays. There were deer running around and that added to the ambience. I found it to be historic and very peaceful.

Well,I ask because I have gone to the cemetery and the gates have been closed. An it was well before dusk.
if you havnt purchased a plot here dont they are horrible grounds keeps will take your love ones things you place there from fresh flowers to plastic ones and throw them out
Go in the office and inquire.
Did you talk to the cemetery first and ask them?
You can put one now
Unfortunately not, still on paper. You can call the office and they can locate her and map her out for you.
Working at Holy Cross for the past 30 years I would be happy to answer Geraldine's question on mausoleum costs.
I can't get through by phone. In another state. Anyone know how to reach the cemetery office
