Tuesday Sept. 20, 2022, someone with sly, scheming ways lied on my family. Dallas County Sheriff responded, Officer badge number 153. Yes I was angry but I also appreciated the Officers professional courtesy and behavior. He was there to keep the peace, which he did. He didn't involve himself in judging the other persons untrue version of what happened. If you've ever been lied on, trust me you will feel you are being judged, that no one believes you, and the liar will get away with it, because they know how to lie so well. Our circumstance involved visitation of a child. We took child home on set date, but mom was not home. We did this 2 days in a row. Facing arrest for " it's like kidnap" the Sheriff responded to keep the peace when mother finally showed up. I want to thank the Officer for showing professional behavior. Also to let his Superiors know that his calm, non judgemental response helped. I was in shock, felt alone, and defeated. I am determined to prove we are innocent. Yes, we stayed in contact with Sheriff Dept and DFS the two days we waited for mother to be available for child drop off. To cover herself she went to Courthouse and Attorney, saying we wouldnt return child. False. We actually took child to DFS office and hospital for 6 hours in ER. There was no abduction. This is wrong and I feel there is corruption in this town. Thank you Officer # 153. Gloria Bridges

The absolute rudest person I have EVER spoken to. The lack of care for the community is beyond any thing I have EVER seen in my life!! I called because there has been a concern in our area. Theft, break INS ect. The person who answered the phone should be ashamed of her self.. she has no business being a 911 operator. She literally said " not our problem call Polk county" shame on you and God forbid you ever need help and you call and get through to some one as hateful as you

My son passed away from an overdose. But, there are some concerns about his death. I have called on Sheriff Rice on multiple occasions. He even said at the beginning he would send an officer to speak to me. And NO officer ever came. I have called often, the Sheriff has NEVER returned my call. I have gone up there in person. His official state vehicle was parked right next to mine. But I was told he wasn't there. When I spoke to him on the phone he also told me "he had medical issues ". Yes my son was ill. I am not disputing that. I am disputing the actions of the other 3 people there who COULD have and SHOULD have something different. To possibly have saved my son's life.
