Is there camping nearby

Gregory Shaw | Oct 17, 2021
Drew | Oct 17, 2021

No. Carson is located along the busy Platte River Trail, behind a shopping center called Aspen Grove in a suburban neighborhood. The nearest camping location is at Chatfield State Park, just south of Carson, in Chatfield designated camping zone where a fee is required and reservations are usually required as well. Chatfield is also a pretty busy destination.

I am wondering when the sand table is going to open. And also I have a few little boys that might be interested in learning about some of the wild life around the park. Are there any programs that I should be looking out for regarding that

Hi Hannah. The remodel is done (Hank and crew ended up with a beautiful job we can't wait to show off) but we are still awaiting Public Health Orders for our type of operation to reopen. Outdoor camps are back underway (www.sspr.org/nature to find classes by age), and we hope to be open later this month, but no date is yet set.
