DO NOT GO TO THIS PARK. I was there for a whole 10 minutes at the bird blind area, parked and locked my vehicle to walk to the blind which was less than 50 yards from where my vehicle was and someone broke into my car and stole my purse. TRASH PEOPLE ARE THE WORST. Alllllll within 10 minutes....I parked at 5:10 pm yesterday and was on the phone to the police at 5:23. 😞

Definitely a fun little state park with well maintained tails. There are also areas where you're able to get down to the water even though the river is pretty deep at this time. Highly recommend checking this park out if you're in need of nature therapy.

This is a great little hidden gem of a state park. It has a nice small campground with about 25 sites, restrooms with flush toilets (no showers), and a few full water / electric sites. Picnic areas, a playground, and a beautiful pavilion are scattered along the main paved road which parallels the river and offers a boat launch. The park is great for walking and has multiple hiking trails that thread their way into the canopied woods that boasts some beautiful old trees. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief time here!

Small, quiet, spacious sites, $20/night E only and $26 FHU. Over half the sites are shaded with large trees:) Bathroom and dump site, yes, but NO BATHHOUSE. Keep this in mind if you're staying up to their 2-week maximum. There is a host on site.

Sites 13, 14, 19, 29, and 21 are first come first serve during the recreation season. From November through March, all sites are first come first serve.
There are numerous sites available with and without electric hookups and with and without water hookups.
It is a very short distance. Less than 100 yards.
Hello, Maddox! Here's info on lodge rentals: https://www.iowadnr.gov/Places-to-Go/State-Parks/Make-a-Reservation/Day-Use-Lodges
There are 2 unisex flush toilets with sinks near the entrance to the park. But there was no showers that I saw.
There are not. But if you check out CITA or MTB project, thbey can tell you more about local trails
Think until November or December after October there are no reservations
Maybe norwalk right before you go to norwalk
Fishing is good. Caught some Cats. Yes water is close
Yes the grounds an trail is open all year!
After camping there in April, I suggest you speak with Park Ranger first. The Raccoon River and Walnut Creek levels are different depending on the season and temperature of water might be an issue.
