At Green Path Holistic Medicine we evaluate patients who are currently under medical treatment by a primary care or specialty physician including chiropractors and licensed psychotherapists to see if their condition is consistent with what the state requires. This is an excellent question and I'm happy to answer the best that I know. In 2008 Michigan passed the medical marijuana law which provided for the establishment of retail outlets for medical patients to procure their supplies and some rules on the growing and distribution of cannabis for medical purposes. Additionally a licensing structure has been developed for patients which involves visit to a physician who will certified medical need for the patient. In the meantime several municipalities throughout the state have decriminalized marijuana. Proposition 1 as I understand it allows for the creation of the next year to 2 years of a distribution system for recreational marijuana for Michigan residents who are over 21 years of age. In the meantime as Proposition 1 becomes ratified by the state legislature marijuana has become completely decriminalized in the state of Michigan.
