GDH motto is "A proud and Progressive village for all people." There is no downtown. Property taxes are indeed the *highest* in DuPage county. Parkway landscaping and easement areas are poorly maintained or just neglected. Parks are small and sparse. Many properties are rented and inhabited by multiple families, some properties are neglected and unsightly which lowers value of surrounding properties. There are quite a few empty store fronts. The police and fire departments are well funded and have a lot of high tech vehicles and tools. Mayor/president Chodri Ma Khokhar can barely speak or understand English yet won the so called election by 2 votes. Apparently longtime incumbent Linda Jackson and another village president candidate, Ed Pope, were kicked off the ballot by the Illinois Supreme Court. The court also ordered that any votes cast for Jackson not be reported. I guess that is what they mean by "all people."

Very helpful ladies in community development, thanks again!

Went to get some documents notarized. It was a lot of paperwork but only 2 pages required notary signature. One lady seemed absolutely offended by the fact we even walked in to begin with. The other lady was nice at first and thought she’d help but then turned super pretentious when she was telling me how the notary signature works. It was like I’d confirm what she was saying and instead of a simple yes or no she’d laugh and explain it to me like I’m a 5 year old, even tho I knew exactly what she was saying. She said we needed a lawyer or mortgage advisor to do it lol. We went to some basic notary who did it no problem it was literally the easiest thing. Attitude is was completely bogus and unnecessary and they probably shouldn’t be notarizing any documents if they can’t do a simple mortgage document.

I will never return to Glendale Heights. The village is horrible to home owners and businesses. They tax EVERYTHING. They require permits for EVERYTHING. If you lease a property they require village code enforcement inspectors to come onto your property and fully inspect EVERY 12 MONTHS and charge $300 for the visit. They randomly point to un-altered things and say you need a permit. EVERY TIME. They require real estate transfer stamps that cost more then the state and county COMBINED. They refuse the stamps and demand escrow money, a minimum of $250 for EVERYTHING. To include a dime size tear in one window screen.Glendale Heights seems to have searched IL for every obscure way other towns have to tax their residents and applied them all.
