I had service manager Joe Shepard come to my home to have our furnace turned on, which I have to do every year, since my warranty ran out with the original company Seider heating, I just wish I would have gone through west allis heating to begin with, Joe was amazing and educated me on my current furnace and very people friendly, enjoyed my time with Joe, would highly recommend west allis heating to family and friends, cannot go wrong with their impeccable service.
one happy mama
Fast, polite service!

I had a very small gas leak near my furnace. Sean did the repair and I also had piping for a future gas stove put in. Sean did a great job, very pleasant and answered all my questions. I also have a yearly maintance agreement with West Allis Heating. I have been very pleased with all the work they have done.

A zoning system allows you to have total control of your home comfort by allowing you to set individual temperatures in different rooms. Having this type of system can also reduce energy bills since you can set rooms that aren’t used often to be heated or cooled only when needed.
Every home and person’s comfort is different. Start by setting it at 30 percent humidity and increase the percentage by five percent every 24 hours until your desired comfort level is met.
It may be time to install a dehumidifier in your home to alleviate excess humidity.
There are a lot of factors that can cause poor air quality such as pet dander, smoking indoors, and poor ventilation. If you have pets, frequent vacuuming helps, but you should also be replacing your air filter at the recommended intervals.
Give our experts a call and we will schedule an air quality assessment test to determine which systems would be beneficial in your home.
People spend much of their time indoors and if allergens, dust, mold, pet dander, and other contaminants are recirculating throughout your home, you’re breathing unhealthy air. It may also worsen allergy symptoms or contribute to new ones.
Ductless systems create zones in your home, alleviating cold spots. This makes them ideal for rooms that do not have ductwork, such as sunrooms and garages. They are fairly quiet and extremely efficient—allowing you to save money on your energy bills. Ask our Comfort Advisors if a ductless system may be right for you.
For a one-inch furnace filter, it is recommended that you change it every month. For a high-efficiency furnace filter (four-inch or larger), it is recommended that you change it every six to 12 months. If you have pets, allergies, or smoke indoors, you may want to change your filter more often.
There are several variables that are taken into consideration to determine the cost of a new furnace. The best first step is to set up a free estimate with one of our Comfort Advisors who can go over different equipment options and help you determine what would work best for your home and comfort.
With proper maintenance, a furnace can last 15 to 20 years. Our technicians will let you know when you should start thinking about replacing your unit, and explain what options are available to meet your needs and budget.
A tune-up and cleaning is a 15-point service check in which the technician examines the entire system, cleans and inspects all of the heating components, makes sure there are no safety hazards or items that require attention, and provides recommendations and pricing for repairs (if needed).
Manufacturers require annual maintenance to maintain valid warranties. Properly maintained equipment will need fewer and less costly repairs. It will also lower energy usage while adding to your comfort. Check out our Comfort Maintenance Agreements to ensure your systems are always in top shape.
A ‘boom’ or ‘thud’ sound from your furnace likely stems from two causes: A delayed gas ignition resulting from too much air mixing with the gas Expansion and contraction of your ductwork from; dirty filters, undersized ducts, closed vents in your home
There could be a number of different reasons such as; a dirty filter, thermostat settings, a faulty switch, or a faulty blower. Be sure to change your filters regularly and have your thermostat set to “Auto” and not “On” for the easiest fixes. If neither of those is the issue, give us a call and we’d be happy to diagnose the issue for you.
There are many reasons that could be the issue. One of our experienced pros will come to your home to take a look.

West Allis Heating offers an annual maintenance agreement which includes two inspections, tune-ups, and cleanings — one in spring for the A/C and one in fall for the furnace — to save customers money. We don’t recommend it. Covering your air conditioning unit can create an ideal space for critters to make their home during the fall and winter months, which might cause damage to many components in the unit. If you are concerned about your air conditioner being exposed, there’s no need to be. They are built to withstand the elements year-round. During your annual spring tune-up, the technician will check for any debris inside the unit to ensure safety before you start it for the first time.
