Amtrak service in Michigan is oriented toward going to/from Chicago from various Michigan cities with the only Ohio connection being the Amtrak bus that connects Michigan with the Lake Shore or Capitol Limited in Toledo. Thats the best I can do in answering your question.

No you need to travel on Via out of Windsor or Sarina Ontario. You can take train 48 out of Toledo to Buffalo and that will get you on the American side
