We were invited to dinner by a friend. Looks like a wonderful environment to live and call home.

As a Founder of Summit Vista (2017) my experience goes far beyond any expectations I thought I would be experiencing at this time. I cannot think of anything the 'life plan' does not include...if not, there is always an open door for me to discuss my concerns. Living here has also given me the opportunity to recommend a special 'Honor Wall' for our Veterans. With all the talent, expertise, and ability here, Robert Welch (US Army) supported me in this effort and made it happen. Summit Vista has kept me safe through an earth quake, pandemic, and other weather & safety issues. Life here has definitely given my family in TX and MA the peace of mind that I am always ok. I feel truly blessed to live in this community of such special friends and neighbors and not worry about the problems I thought I might be facing at this time of life. Thank you.

We checked all the active senior living facilities in Northen Utah and California and Summit Vista is by far the best for us. Our neighbors are delightful, interesting and willing to help out when needed. Lots of healthy activities, good food and very safe. Very affordable also - that's important to us.

I cannot imagine a living situation more perfect for this stage of life! Warm, friendly people all over the place. Activities galore--intellectually stimulating, health/wellness focused, spiritually uplifting, fun! Delicious dining that easily connects you with a diverse and impressive bunch of people! Thoughtful programs and staffing for health tracking and security. Comfortable, gracious living quarters where you can entertain or simply retreat for quiet time. Management that listens, responds, and keeps you informed about what's happening and when and why.

Questions & Answers

how much are the HOA fees? and are there any other fees? do you have any condos left and what are the prices? What is the square footage?

There are no HOA fees because it's *not* a condo. You do *not* own it; it is a rental apartment. The monthly rental depends on the size of apartment and whether you are alone or have a spouse/significant other. There are one and two bedroom units (maybe 3 bedroom, I can't remember). There are a couple of different sizes/models in each. There is a very substantial deposit which is 90% refundable if you move or pass away. Basic cable, landline, utilities are all included. Full kitchen, washer & dryer included. 30 yard long pool (24x7x365 access), gym, lots of activities, all included. EMTs on site 24x7x365. Fenced, grass off-leash dog park. 3 different-themed restaurants and a small C-store. All the apartment buildings are connected to the clubhouse (with the restaurants, etc.) so you don't have to go outside in the snow. If you want specifics, make an appointment with their "sales" staff; they are *not* hard-sell. I talked with Jason 5 times before I signed a contract.

We can reasonably assume that storage space is a constant challenge. However, it's impractical to re-purchase tents, holiday decorations, etc., as needed annually. Any ideas regarding expensive Christmas trees - as well as other [larger] items?

What are you talking about?

What is the price range from smallest to largest. I need a ball park figure.

It's best to call and talk with them. They are happy to answer, but they have many different arrangements both for independent living with various add-on services as well as varying levels of assisted living. My in-laws paid a low 6 figures long term deposit and pay around $2,600 a month for rent+utilities+meals.

Are there plans to provide storage of (hardback & paperback) books that may become part of a small facility library? If so, about when? When selling a house, "down-sizing" results in accumulations of items. Better if completely empty.

Great question! We are currently working on a policy with regards to storing resident books in our library. We'll keep you posted on what's decided, but I imagine a decision will be made soon. In the meantime, let us know if you have any other questions!

Can you explain the $200,000 to $400,000 "buy in" and you also pay $3,000 a month?

Eric Willoughby | Oct 17, 2017

Good question! If you call them, they'll give you the exact details. It turns out that it makes a lot of sense once you get the full explanation. I hope this helps!

Do you have any facility around St George Utah???

Ghislaine Brassine | Oct 17, 2017
Drew Roberts | Oct 17, 2017

Unfortunately, Summit Vista does not have any communities in St. George yet. Their first community is currently under construction and is situated on 105 acres in the Salt Lake Valley.
