Landon, the negative review you wrote is very disappointing and misguided. I find it difficult to understand the reason for such a review in light of the service I provided you. Approximately four (4) months ago, you brought in your mother’s Howard Miller wall clock that was missing a pendulum, busted main spring , had no pendulum leader, busted pendulum spring, no key, and caked in dirt like someone used motor oil in the past to lubricate the clock. I told you then what I saw as the issues this clock had and that the cost to overhaul the clock movement and replace the springs, pendulum and key would be around $400. After conferring with your mother, you accepted my bid to repair the clock. The clock was running for two weeks in my shop without any problems before you picked the clock up. You were shown how to wind the clock and how to hang the clock . Also, I told you to never transport the clock with the pendulum on and to not move the minute hand backwards. You paid for the clock repair, and I told you if you have any problems to please let me know so I can help you fix it. About three months later, you came back to the store stating that you were disappointed and that you could not get your mother’s clock to run. I looked at the clock, and the pendulum spring that I had replaced was busted, no pendulum hanger, and the escapement clutch was bent with the pendulum hanging sideways on it. I fixed the three problems while you were watching and hung the clock on the wall, and it was working fine. At that time, I asked if you wanted to pay for the repairs, and you asked if I could let the clock hang in the store for a week or so, and make sure there were no problems with the clock, and I agreed. Two weeks later, you picked up the clock with the repairs made and the clock running as it should with no problems. I charged you $75.00 for the cost of the pendulum hanger, the busted pendulum spring, and repair of the pendulum clutch. You agreed to pay without any stated problem and seemed to understand the reason for the additional cost. You were also given instruction on winding the clock with the key, how to hang the clock so that it is ticking appropriately, and how to hang the pendulum. So, Landon, I am sorry you are disappointed with the service and cost, and I hope you find someone who can satisfy you.

After nearly 10 years of essentially being in storage, it was time to get the grandfather clock up and running. I did some online research and chose Bill to do the work. While there was one questionable review, good faith effort was made to correct the customer’s concern. I respect that effort. Bill quoted a reasonable price for his service which included him coming to my home and reassembling the clock, balancing the weights, adjusting the timing mechanism, and making it ‘sing’ again. He slotted me into his earliest appointment (next day) and arrived on time. His communication was clear and straightforward. After completing his work he described one item to be aware of and explained how it would be addressed if needed in the future. His final charge was exactly as quoted. In short, I am very pleased with the entire experience and would recommend Bill without hesitation.

I bought a clock in Europe yrs ago and it has the 3 balls that turn around at the bottom and has a glass dome. It looses time. Actually the balls turn around but the hands don't move. Would you be able to look at it to see if you can fix it.

No. Cheap pocket watches are trouble for both the costumer and the business.
